Project Role

Dr. Salom provides support in all studies related to the development and testing of the Verticillium nonalfalfae bioherbicide for use on tree-of-heaven and also with the potential use of the Ailanthus trunk weevil following its approval for release from USDA APHIS.

Research Bio

Dr. Salom works on integrated pest management of forest insect and weed pests. He has leaned toward non-native invaders, and within the context of IPM, his projects are focused on the development, implementation, and assessment of classical and augmentative biological control programs. Two principal programmatic areas we focus our research and operational efforts on are hemlock woolly adelgid and tree-of-heaven
