Dr. Yang leads the development and evaluation of eDNA-based approaches for SLF detection, monitoring, and areawide surveillance.

Research Bio

Dr. Yang’s research focuses on the ecology and management of invasive and urban insect pests, with particular interests in invasive ants and spotted lanternfly. His program integrates behavioral ecology, molecular ecology, environmental DNA (eDNA), genomics, and pathogen biology to develop innovative tools for pest detection, surveillance, and management.
